The first comprehensive new edition of CMAA’s SOP since 2003 includes new sections on Risk Management, BIM and Sustainability, along with expanded attention to Program Management and other updates. This is the basic work defining the range of services that constitute professional Construction Management, serving as an indispensable guide for owners and service providers alike.

Preventing Third Party Beneficiary Claims
The “Great Recession” has hit the construction industry particularly hard. Employment within the industry has fallen over 28% since 2006 and is still shrinking. Residential housing starts have declined 72% since 2005.

The Education Committee has been busy through the spring and summer 2010. Seminars each month have been well attended and provided educational input on a number of interesting topics.

Another bond issue for education facility construction and modernization may be headed our way.
Membership Committee Report: CMAA Membership Continues to Grow
In our last report for April we reported 934 active members. As of June 29, 2010, our membership total is 944--a small gain since our last report in April.
