Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and licensed Construction Manager (Class B General Contractor License required) to oversee school construction, modernization, and maintenance projects throughout California. The ideal candidate brings hands-on field expertise, deep knowledge of DSA processes, and a passion for educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as owner’s representative for K–14 school construction and modernization projects
• Oversee daily on-site operations, subcontractors, and schedule adherence
• Provide construction insight during design development and bid phases
• Ensure compliance with DSA, local, and state regulations
• Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and project reporting
• Coordinate with district staff, architects, and consultants
• Maintain budgets, change orders, and contractor payment tracking
• Participate in community/stakeholder meetings as needed
Qualifications:
• Valid California Class B General Contractor License (Required)
• 7+ years of experience in construction management, with school facility experience preferred
• Familiarity with DSA processes and educational facility requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Proficient in scheduling, budgeting, and document control
• Ability to travel to school sites throughout California
Preferred Experience:
• Experience working with or for school districts
• Knowledge of CM Multi-Prime, Lease-Leaseback, and Design-Bid-Build delivery models
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Requirements (Education, Certifications, Level of Experience)
|
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
• Valid California Class B General Contractor License (required and active)
• Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (preferred)
• Additional certifications such as LEED, PMP, or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are a plus
