| Job Description / Primary Objective |
The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for bringing a high level of technical expertise to assist our Associate and Assistant Engineers through complex capital projects. The ideal candidate for this role will embody a facilitation mindset and will also be well versed in a broad range of engineering skill sets related to Project Delivery, including but not limited to complex project and contract management, sound cost estimating strategies, creating economics of scale, understanding constructability, and strategic planning. |
| Requirements (Education, Certifications, Level of Experience) |
Education and/or Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four years of progressively responsible professional experience, including experience in directing the work of others involved in engineering project activities or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of engineering principles, methods and practices; project development, design and construction; techniques for reviewing designs, plans, specifications, estimates, reports and recommendations; current trends and developments, literature, and sources of information regarding municipal engineering; related laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. Ability to plan and coordinate professional and sub-professional engineering work; interpret and apply related laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and policies; prepare and present reports; perform complex professional engineering work; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers. Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. |
